Lingerie Silkstone Barbie #1

One thing you'll definitely notice about my collection is that I mostly have dolls from the play line, and they are mostly out of the box. However, I do have a few dolls that are a little more... collectable, yes? A few I have kept in their boxes. Lingerie Silkstone Barbie #1 is one of those! How proud am I of myself for not taking her out of the box for all these years, because I hella want to!
But I haven't! Here she is, or rather, here's her box. Even the box is pretty.

Here she is! What a gorgeous doll, am I right?

Lingerie Silkstone Barbie was released in 2000 and was the premiere doll in the Silkstone Fashion doll line-up for adult collectors. Her high-quality style and vintage look made the adult collector world fall completely in love with her, and people who had not previously been interested in anything but retro dolls soon found themselves snatching these dolls up. Lingerie Silkstone Barbie #1 is the blonde hair, fair skinned Barbie, with the other hair colours and skin tones being dolls #2-#5.

Just what is "silkstone", you ask? Some sort of fancy porcelain? Granite Barbie? No, it is just plastic, very hard plastic that is meant to mimic the feel of porcelain. It does, if you didn't know better you could be fooled into thinking she is a porcelain doll. Silkstone is also very hard, in fact, rumour has it that you can drop this doll from the top of the Empire State building and she won't break! (Note: I literally just made that rumour up, there is no basis for it. Don't go dropping your dolls, they could very well break!).

As you can see in the above picture, Lingerie Barbie lives up to her name and is wearing her bloomers out in public. She's sexy, so no one cares. She comes wearing a pearly white brassiere with a little pink bow, a pair of high waisted white panties (again with the pink bow), sheer stockings held up by garter belts and white strappy heels. A pair of gold earring finishes the look.

Look at that vintage face, what a beaut! I love the winged eyeliner, and a lot of detail went into her eye shadow, just look at the sparkles just under her brow. Full pink lips and a beauty mark finish off the look perfectly.
I opened the gold ribbon on the front of the box (stop panicking, it easily slides back together!) so that everyone can get a good look at her super long legs. Love the garter belts!

Apparently, Lingerie #1 and #2 are the most highly sought after of this line, because people love to redress them. I found a few on e-bay, you're looking at about $100 US for one unless you happen to want the one with the error on the box. Then you're looking somewhere between $250 and $300 US. The error is that the word genuine is spelt wrong ("geninue"). Mine is!
